If they add LAN support with dedicated servers, I may buy. Till then, I won't be purchasing BF3 or any other game that does not offer LAN dedicated server support (Had I realised this was the case with SC2 before we sent out the mailer, we wounldn't be using that either).

Just my two pence ;)

And, not sure how much sensationalism this is, but the principle of the thing warrants attention...

just copying Sony, useless tossers the lot of them. Someone should point out that you cannot waive your right to a trial by Jury in a contract with a third party.

By putting that in they are actually pushing for an EULA to be tested in court, now THAT is a battle I'd pay to watch! Also another reason to give EA and Sony a wide berth....

no, they have promised "dedicated" servers, but these are online only. All the info I have seen to date is that they will be "ranked" only, no third party servers etc...

Didn't they learn anything from watching the CoD:MW2 fiasco?

AlterIWnet is a multiplayer version of MW2 that supports dedi's, made by ppl who hated the orignal, and IW think it was a great idea! MW2 + Dedi's = UH MAY ZIN!

sorry, should have been "full steam ahead", not "all steam ahead". no reference to valve at all :)

Despite Steam's frequent mental breakdowns in the absence of internet access, you have to respect Valve's far superior style of DRM and server provision. I still think they're one of the few games companies who love what they do and seem to give a damn.

as a massive BF2 fan I basically bought MOH for the BF3 beta that came with it.

however I can't get it working and Origin doesn't have a opt out "Start when Windows loads" thing. God that pisses me off.

Uninstalled both tonight (this morning) and now thinking about waiting till BF3 hits sale price in January. God damn EA, twats!
brain damage won't stop me!
