The Llamas knew that the upcoming operations would required huge amounts of coordination and cooperation, each mission would suffer an ignominious fate if the teams were late or missing valued squad members ... they had come to far to miss out on fixing the entire Universe just because one Llama overslept!
What they need was a methodical plan, of who need to be where and when ... a table of times ... a timetable!
Over the different events we have tried to arrange everything to a rough timetable, on the occasions when we didn't we found that the tournaments slipped and everyone found themselves playing tournaments late into the night instead of the free-for-all shenanigans and socialising which make up the core of the LlamaLAN experience, and so we return with a focus on giving everyone plenty of warning so that they can plan their day, their shopping, their eating, their drinking, around the structured activities and hence make the most of their short time at the LAN.
We will be posting the initial timetable at the bottom of this mailer and in the forums (http://www.llamalan.co.uk/forums/viewto ... 41&p=22095), as more information comes available we will update it, and where appropriate we will be creating Steam Group events to alert you to the activities. This is why there has been a huge drive by your Team Leaders to get everyone in the "LlamaLAN Next Event" Steam group and the individual Team Steam Groups. If you haven't already, please get in contact with your Team Leader, and secure yourself an invite to the two groups, three if you haven't already joined the public LlamaLAN Steam Group.
Llamas yearn to push their rodents about with the greatest precision and comfort, and being creatures of good taste, a splash of colour for the desktop does not go amiss. Ideal really, as the favourite provider of rodent surfaces to Llamas in the UK have loads to choose from, including new Guild Wars 2, Portal 2 and WOW Panda Monk prints from Steelseries (http://www.kustompcs.co.uk/acatalog/Steel_Series.html) and aluminium Mionix Esis mats (http://www.kustompcs.co.uk/acatalog/Mionix.html) which are perfect for those who have an uneven desk or even for those do without the luxury of a desk, using the sofa arm or any nearby leg as a mouse surface. See the whole range here (http://www.kustompcs.co.uk/acatalog/Kus ... ts_63.html) where you can be browse by brand, surface type or size and order online picking LlamaLAN delivery in checkout to get delivery directly to the event at no charge.
For those who may not have heard already LlamaBEER will likely be operating again, if you're a Llama with a taste for real ale please ensure that your Team Captain is made aware of your interest, we would love to get a a level of financial commitment that would allow a mini-PolyPin for each Team, but if there isn't quite enough we'll have a central LAN purchase ... remember, this will be an up front contribute to part of a barrel not a per pint arrangement like last time.
The 1v1 Tournament will be opening in the near future and will be announced through it's own mailer. Remember there are only FOUR places per team, hopefully your Team Captains will have asked for registers of interest through your Team Areas in the Forum, in the absence of a level of interest exceeding the current tournament structure at 16 players (4 players by 4 teams) we will run with that tournament size (we had prepared a 32 player structure 'just-in-case')
So, get you LAN essentials ordered from KustomPCs, let us know about the LlamaBEER, and started to get really excited ... LlamaLAN 18 is coming ... and it's LESS THAN A WEEK AWAY!
