Just a quick work to say THANKS to IXL .. it was a nice day and great to able to just relax and get on with the gaming and leave the stressful organising to someone else.
From a LlamaLAN point of view it has firmed up a few plans we had about organising our LANs and how we should proceed in the future, it's always good to see how someone else does it and steal their ideas ... we have always toyed with the idea of a timetable of games but after seeing how well it worked at IXL#8 I think it is a definite for next LL ... the 'patch situation' also highlighted the need for a decision on patch versions and a patch freeze prior to the event.
Thanks again for introducing me back to the world of DoD, the map selection was perfect for the numbers of people playing game is great in a small LAN environment, thanks for lending me a machine for that, I'm glad I wasn't left out .
The venue's great, it's nice not having to worry about blackouts, and we may even have to steal your idea about the free tea and coffee, that was great, even if I was getting a little twitchy by mid-afternoon.
In summary it was a huge laugh and we will definitely be re-visiting at some point in the future, maybe not the next one, but we will be back at some point.

Thanks for those kind words fella... (sorry for delay in posting, its been vbusy)
Were really glad you both came along an enjoyed the day... although there were quite a few problems with steam (although we got around it) and BFxx, but thats lan life. But on the whole I actually enjoyed the day too! (i know exactly what u mean abot having a relaxing lan for a change)
I intend to come along to your event but not for the whole wkend.... Im hoping some others of us at IXL can make it too...
Free tea and coffee is a must really, and it doesnt really cost much. A time table has been in effect for about the last 3 or 4 events since we started playing dod and other games... it also helps give people an idea of when we are eating ect. Theres nothing worse than having people get up and leave the venue or pc to get some food whilst others have to play on with less team players ect... (if you get my meaning)
Anyway, your all welcome to come again, even to just drop by and say hello !
Cheers...
