I spotted this a when it was slashdotted, the fact that it is vanilla BF2, no alterations were made to the code, and that it was just a fun fan movie makes a complete mockery of the whole situation ... if a bit like saying that Wolfenstein3D 'realistic training tool for th US military in a potential neo-nazi zombie science experiment conflict'.

Or 'Medal Of Honour' is designed to desensitize us to killing Germans, the Desert Storm series was released to get us all used to killing Arabs, and Conflict Vietnam is to make sure we hate those commy Easterners. So it's of no concern when the race in the crosshairs is foreign.

That was all sarcasm, by the way.

Vanilla BF2 seems to focus on USA vs. Everyone Else (every scenario is USA vs x.) I wonder what the reaction would have been to its release if it featured an Iraqi soldier on the box instead of a USA marine... :?:

But in all of the multiplayer versions of these games you can play as either side, and quite a few people (including myself) enjoy playing as the non-American forces. Why haven't they mentioned CounterStrike which actually features terrorists instead of legitimate (if fictional) conventional armed forces?
