Re: LlamaLAN 10 - RTS Tourney
It's a little late in the day to influence the choice for the RTS tournament since it was chosen by popular vote a few days ago, the decision being Command and Conquer 3 if you missed the news and mailer. If you want to drum up a few players for an alternative RTS to be played outside of the tournaments i.e. late at night or on the Sunday, it might be worth starting a new thread.
edit: I actually went out and bought CnC3, it should arrive today, shame that I'm only going to get two games of it.

If enough people are interested in playing is there any chance of it being 2v2 instead of 1v1.

Re: LlamaLAN 10 - RTS Tourney
Apologies for my woefully inadequate knowledge, I didn't know you could play it 2v2
for that, we would need to either drop down to 4 teams of 2, or get 16 people to play.
The other major problem would be the removal of all signups and then getting the clans to signup. I am happy to do this if there is the interest though
I'll get Golem to add it to the next Mailer.

Thats cool it is entirely possible that you could play 4v4, however the game gets rather flakey with that many players.
I only suggested it as I noticed that it was already full after just 2 days.

Thanks for the heads-up! When we get 8 signed up and indications that there are plenty more than 8 who want a piece of it, it'll be worth serious consideration.

Re: LlamaLAN 10 - RTS Tourney
It's actually reporting 8 on the summary page, but there are only 6 people signed up to play at the moment. That said, according to the games list there are only 9 people attending or intending to attend who own the game and are willing to participate in a game, so I'm guessing that an 8 way tournament will fit just fine.

I am willing to relinquish my sign up in the C&C3 1v1 tourney if anyone else is eager to play. As I am not a big RTS gamer, and certainly very poor against non-CPU opponents.

Don't do it ... I've got you in the first round ... it's my only chance of getting into the second !YaZoR wrote:I am willing to relinquish my sign up in the C&C3 1v1 tourney if anyone else is eager to play. As I am not a big RTS gamer, and certainly very poor against non-CPU opponents.

Re: LlamaLAN 10 - RTS Tourney
OK, so that is two people more who want to play, if they get another 6 then an expansion could be possible to either 8 x 2 person teams, or 16 single player teams, all we have to do is find the time to play in amongst everything else, which is why 2 v 2 might be a better option with the time constraints.
Either way they'd still need 6 more interested parties.

Aye, if there is another 6, I think a 2v2 may be interesting.

Re: LlamaLAN 10 - RTS Tourney
Just had a thought!
I've hardly played the Scrin in CnC3, dabbled a little with GDI, but I've pretty much played NOD almost all the time I've played the game. In the tourny, are we playing the races we're best at, or will the race we play be chosen for us by way of some random method (eg rolling a dice or something)?
Or will everyone play the same race, so it's even across the board, and so becomes truly a case of "the best player wins"?
Just a thought.
